l'éternèbre.

electric bass, toys and radio.

(Plustapes PT-48)

Have you ever sat down and really spent some time staring in a fish tank? Artificial colors – neon carrot, electric lime, hot magenta, wild watermelon – mingle in a completely natural ecosystem: the transparent periwinkle of tap water, the algae green of fish tank moss and the shimmering colors of fish scales. Steady but infinite streams of tiny iridescent bubbles keep the water from ever truly being still. Ghostly waves rise ad infinitum in the microscopic space between the water and the glass. The odd angles created by light rays refracting between mediums. Fish exploring and re-exploring their glassed-in purgatory in an unhurried rhythm. The eerie calm of a protected environment paired with the infinite uneasiness of the creatures inside. That’s exactly what listening to l’éternèbre is like.
